Because of Your Support: Mom’s Group
Becoming a new mom can be a lonely and isolating experience. Going from a life with no one to care for but yourself, to a life where every waking moment (and some moments that you wish weren’t ‘waking’) is consumed with the care of a completely dependent child can be extremely exhausting. That’s why AlphaCare hosts Mom’s Group.
Mom’s Group blesses our new moms by giving them time to relax, enjoy some refreshments and crafts and, most importantly, connect with other moms. These moms are experiencing many of the same struggles and joys as they walk this new road of motherhood. At Mom’s Group they are able to laugh together and even share advice or words of encouragement. Our program staff are on hand, sharing tips and helpful tools to further equip them on this journey.
Thanks to some very capable and giving volunteers, we are able to provide childcare for their little ones so they have the space to truly relax and enjoy the day.
Our October Mom’s Group was especially encouraging and fun. The moms were able to make caramel apples and paint pumpkins for their families to enjoy. Our staff helped them brainstorm fun family activities and traditions they can enjoy with their children during this fall season.
We praise God for the opportunity to continue sharing life with AlphaCare moms and babies as we support them in finding community beyond our walls. And thank you to the many volunteers who make Mom’s Group possible.
