Christian Union’s Magazine: Featuring Karen Hess
AlphaCare’s strategic relocation to University City/West Philadelphia is resulting in more ministry opportunities with college students from Penn and Drexel. We reach students from Temple and other schools by choosing strategic parking places for the mobile unit.
In addition, college students from Penn’s Christian Union group and Students for Life Groups from Drexel, Temple, St. Joe’s and PCOM have recently contacted AlphaCare offering to volunteer. The challenging environment of campuses today makes us especially thankful for the students, faculty members and staff who have identified themselves to us and who actively support the culture of life on their campuses.
When she was a Penn graduate student, AlphaCare’s Executive Director, Karen Hess, quickly discovered her personal views regarding the sanctity of life were not the norm. Consequently, AlphaCare has been working diligently to build a solid base of support at Penn. Karen finds these new relationships especially gratifying.
