Comprehensive Care: Meeting the Needs of our Mothers
As an immigrant with limited English skills, Raihana* struggled to navigate through normal, everyday tasks. When she discovered she was pregnant, she had no idea how to find a healthcare provider that she could afford and could help her care for her baby. She felt isolated and hopeless.
Then she found AlphaCare. She came for her first ultrasound appointment hoping to confirm the pregnancy and learn how far along she was. As she shared her situation with our caring staff, they took extra time to find a clinic that could provide Raihana’s prenatal care. Her beaming smile communicated the overwhelming gratitude she felt for the care shown to her and her baby.
Raihana found a place that would take the time to listen to her and work hard to help her. She was so grateful. She attended all of her appointments, every childbirth class and listened intently as our staff gave her recommendations and instruction. She would come to her next appointment with a report on all the ways she had taken the advice of our staff.
Last month, Raihana welcomed home a healthy new baby girl. We praise God that He led Raihana to us, so we could care for her physical and spiritual needs. And we pray that she comes back to attend Mom’s Group for her good and ours.
