40 Days for Life Prayer Vigil

Feb 27, 2018Newsletter

On Saturday, March 17, 2018 AlphaCare needs prayer warriors who will be respectful, kind, gentle servants offering prayers while standing in front of the Planned Parenthood at 12th and Locust. We have volunteered to participate in the 40 Days for Life prayer vigil and cover the hours from 8 AM to 5 PM. If you are willing to sacrifice an hour or two on March 17, you will be blessed and your presence will be a blessing. Email AlphaCare at info@alphacarephilly.org to sign up.

40 Days for Life describes their campaign efforts this way:

“Prayer is at the center of 40 Days for Life. During each campaign, we are calling on people of faith across the nation … and around the world … to fall on their knees before the Lord, asking Him to hear our plea and heal our land. Pray outside an abortion facility. Pray at church. Pray at work. Pray in the car. Pray at home with your family.”

The best thing that has ever happened to me (Karen Hess) at 12th and Locust:
My faith grows when I pray at this location. I am reminded that I am weak, small and powerless. I am reminded that through prayer I can communicate with the Creator of every living being and ask Him to have mercy on me, the workers, as well as the women and men going in and out of the abortion clinic. I am blessed to be part of the world wide 40 Days for Life community of prayer.

What makes me think it is worthwhile?
Even though I haven’t ever directly helped a woman change her mind and choose life, I know that many women skip their scheduled appointments when people are praying near the door of an abortion clinic. Some women later report that seeing people out there praying reminds them that there is a God and He doesn’t want them to go through with the procedure. He wants to help.

If you are physically unable to join us, but would still like to join us in prayer, pray that God would help:

  • Women who are at risk of having an abortion
  • Innocent children who are at risk of perishing
  • Men and women who carry the pain of a past abortion experience
  • Workers at Planned Parenthood facilities and abortion centers
  • Local, regional, and national leaders
  • Revival and renewal in our churches
  • Repentance and healing throughout our nation

If you feel like the Lord is calling you to stand with us on Saturday, March 17 between 8 and 5, please email us and let us know what hours you are available.
