Introducing Deborah Centurion Molloy
You never know what might happen on a social outing. For Deborah Centurion Molloy, she ended up finding a job! Deborah met Executive Director Brooke Nearman at TopGolf when they were spending time with mutual friends. Deborah was interested in learning about the work at AlphaCare. By the end of their conversation, Brooke encouraged her to apply for the Ultrasound Assistant position!
Chosen from among other applicants, Deborah began working part-time in December. She describes her job as multi-faceted and flexible. She assists with AlphaCare’s R.N.s Kim and Sue during client ultrasounds, but she has also trained at the front desk with Crista and pitches in to help with projects on the social work end of things for Brianna and Karissa, too. Her favorite aspect of her job is the sense of close community in this small organization; she appreciates the interconnected environment present among the ten Christian women who comprise AlphaCare’s staff.
Born in Philadelphia, Deborah is natively bilingual since her parents moved to the USA from Paraguay. Her ability to speak Spanish fluently is a great asset in communicating with our clients as a significant number of them are Hispanic. Deborah is finishing up her senior year at Temple University as a Public Health major. She will graduate around the same time as her husband, Alex. Alex came to the USA from the UK and is studying at Drexel Law. The Molloys were married last year (a Covid wedding!); they met at their church. As a self-described “huge animal lover,” Deborah is happy to share her home with a dog and two cats. Sometimes one of her cats will make a surprise appearance on our weekly Zoom staff meeting calls.
As the Lord brings Deborah to your mind, please pray for His blessing on her new marriage and for peace as upcoming chapters of life unfold for her and Alex. She would appreciate prayer for them both to finish their school journeys well, for success for Alex as he takes the Bar Exam in July and for employment for him as an attorney. He would like to work with the Philadelphia Public Defender’s Association, but he is open to considering other paths in which God may lead him. We are thankful to have Deborah on board at AlphaCare. Her willing spirit and gentle manner are a daily blessing in the office to clients and staff members alike!
