Volunteer Spotlight: Baby Showers
Our AlphaCare volunteers come from all ages and places. But one thing they all have in common is that they come with willing hearts to use their gifts for the good of our moms and babies. For some that means providing administrative or medical support. For others, that means organizing and hosting a baby shower in honor of the moms and babies that we serve!
Several groups showed their support this past year by showering us with baby gifts. Whether that was in the form of an actual “baby shower” with wrapped gifts, snacks and cake, or just a simple announcement with a list of recommended items for purchase, these groups blessed our moms tremendously by giving them a big jump start in their adventure of becoming a new mom.
I wish you could see the faces of our moms when they receive a bundle of new items just for them and their baby! You see, many of them won’t have a baby shower of any kind. Some don’t have a support system apart from AlphaCare. The generous gifts from these groups are placed directly in the hands of the moms who need the most help. And these gifts help shine the light of Jesus on their hearts. Why would people who they’ve never seen or met want to bless them in such a way? Only because of Christ.
A big thank you goes to the following groups who hosted a baby shower in honor of our AlphaCare moms and babies in 2017:
